Chanel Nail Colour

In Uncategorized on November 30, 2009 at 8:01 pm

Fall's Hit-JadeI must admit that the minute I hear  the word Limited Edition when it comes to shopping, I want that coveted something even more.  One of the most usual suspects of the Limited Edition marketing ploy is Chanel Nail Polish. It started with Vamp, then Black Satin, then Blue Satin, etc. However it was Winter’s Jade that really raised the stakes for the price people will pay for a bottle of nail polish. I recently saw a bottle selling on Ebay for well over $100. So I missed out on that one, yet I recently purchased Trapeze-another LE polish. It a beautiful metallic taupe that I can’t wait to wear. Word on the runway is that  Particuliere, a taupey, purpley, gray will be the hottest shade for Spring 2010.

A Tahitian Pearl Necklace from Pachamama

I’m heading down to Sayulita, Mexico for a friend’s wedding this weekend. It is a small, bohemian fishing/surfing village about an hour North of Puerto Vallarta. I am so excited to eat fish tacos from a street stand and shop at Pachamama, a small boutique owned by gypsy, bohemian sisters-Nathalie and Sophie Mignot.  I first read about them in Gypset-one of my favorite new coffee table books. I am hoping to come home with one of their Tahitian Pearl Necklaces.

I love Hermes for many reasons- mainly because the quality of their craft is unsurpassable. They take the leather business very seriously. So I was really surprised when I began browsing the website and I noticed that it wasn’t all business. It is so light-hearted and whimsical-it really goes above and beyond an on-line boutique. Check out The Travel With Hermes Section which takes you on a journey into the world of Hermes-fun and games included. It made me love the brand that much more. So as I sit and dream of a Birkin, I could buy an ashtray or beach towel, but  for now, will settle with just browsing.

Ocean Park Blvd-Santa Monica

In Uncategorized on November 5, 2009 at 4:53 am

There is a small stretch of Ocean Park Blvd that is coming to life. Here are some of my favorite spots:

Rumba for its eclectic mix of affordable antiques

Golden State Store-for my Missoni Beach Towel Fix as well as other great clothes/home decor geared toward California’s Sunny Lifestyle

Thyme Cafe and Market-A much needed restaurant that will really take this sleepy street to the next level. It’s a great lunch spot with really affordable prices and the interior is lovely. The Grilled Vegetable and Goat Cheese Sandwich is amazing!
